Henri Cartier-Bresson

“For me, the camera is a sketch book, an instrument of intuition and spontaneity."

Henri Cartier-Bresson was a French Photographer considered as the father of photojournalism. His works have had a major influence on "Street Photography","Life reportage" or "decisive moment" Photography. He often taped his camera's silver body with black tape to disguise it. He never photographed with flash because he saw it as "impolite" like showing up with a pistol on his hands. He exclusively photographed in Black and White.

Behind the Gare St Lazare: One of the first of Henri's Photographs I was introduced to.
