Uta Barth is German contemporary photographer based in Los Angeles, California. Barth is an artist whose "abstract" works are about perception and peripheral vision. A Professor in University of California (where she graduated from), Her works are very unique and differs from the most artists. I find her works really interesting because what we say a good photograph is "sharp" focus but her photographs really show us what we see from the "corners of our eyes". It is something we see but don't necessarily pay attention to. Her works celebrate our peripheral vision that is always "surrounding" us using a camera as a medium. It shows us the beauty of what we see but don't notice.
She captures the soul of a moment, that fleeting glimpse we fail to recollect.
